School Branding is often a detail that is, unfortunately, overlooked by many parents and school staff.
In reality though your school brand and its key messages are vital when you want to effectively communicate to parents, potential new staff and the wider community.
Discover these 5 essentials when you are embarking on creating your new school brand…
One of the best visual representations of your school is expressed through its logo. The logo should represent your school’s beliefs and values and be consistent, unique and well thought out.
Creating a logo can be a fulfilling process and here at Blue Apple Education we use our experience, expertise and creative skill to give your school the most remarkable logo and brand it deserves.
Here’s how we work through the process of creating an exceptional, brand and logo for your school:
- Unearthing your Remarkable Qualities
Understanding and unearthing what makes your school unique, special and remarkable is always the best place to start. We attentively listen to you! We diligently investigate and discover your greatest qualities! We question and challenge preconceptions so as to unearth that which makes your school special. Once we understand your school’s core values, beliefs and overall ethos only then we can start creating something truly remarkable.
- Discussing Ideas:
The designers and marketing experts at Blue Apple Education get together for a brainstorming session to discuss ideas, concepts and the best way forward to integrate your school’s ethos with the aesthetics of the logo. A moodboard is often created to get a feeling of your school’s identity and values. These meetings are open to all ideas and are blatantly honest and comprehensive to ensure that no stone is left unturned. At this stage we are also in constant dialogue with you to ensure that we are all on the same page and that your school’s brand is being represented in the best possible way.
- Remarkable Colours:
A key consideration is the colour palette that will go with your logo. Much thought and expertise goes into this stage to ensure that the colour palette best represents your school. Should we use traditional colours or a new dynamic palette? Should we be using colours to symbolise school values and beliefs or do the colours portray natural locations or famous places? Understanding the school values will help answer these questions and guide the correct colour choice for you logo.
- Logo Utilisation and Application:
Moreover, the logo’s utilisation should be consistent across different marketing channels and disciplines, especially when it comes to using the logo digitally (on your school website) or printed (on school signs, school prospectuses or large format printed banners). Many technical facets are considered at this stage and often a secondary, but just as remarkable, logo is created that may be used in specific situations and environments, such as a school website page or email signature.
- Brand Guidelines:
Once a logo is completed, we’ll start working on the Brand Guidelines. Colour scheme, school stationery and other operations of the logo are assessed so that the logo is used in a consistent manner throughout, including on the website, prospectus, posters, photography, video and school marketing.
All the careful thought process and hard work that goes into the branding and logo design for your school is to ensure that we at Blue Apple Education create great quality and remarkable products for you. However, just as important, is to maintain an excellent rapport and relationship, something we have achieved with so many schools, both in the UK and internationally, and something we will continue to do well into the future.
