We designed the new brand identity for Penarth Group School that reflects their Remarkable, has a creative yet corporate feel and delivers a professional level of consistency across their marketing.

The Penarth Pathway.

The Mission.

Our mission was to create a brand for Penarth Group School that reflected their remarkable and the three main key points from their new mission statement, these are ‘Accepting Individuality, Supportive Environment and Being Resilient’. It was to have a creative yet corporate feel, be bold and modern and deliver a professional level of consistency across all marketing materials and channels.

We were to use the three key points from the mission statement to create a strapline for the brand to push the intent of Penarth Group School.

Possibly look into the idea of stepping stones or something similar as this would act as a visual representation of the steps Penarth Group School put in place to ensure each young person’s needs are met and they can achieve their fullest potential.

The colour palette should reflect the nurturing and warm environment they provide whilst having a corporate feel. The typeface should be bold and modern, a sansserif typeface would achieve this.

We selected the sans-serif typeface Montserrat as we required the brand identity to be modern and bold. It provides strong legibility across both digital and print formats with a variety of different weights to ensure text within their marketing materials are truly engaging.

The Colour Palette.

The colour palette was developed to provide a warm and welcoming yet corporate feel to the Penarth Group School brand. We also took into consideration the psychology of colour and how each colour relates to their personality and character to ensure it communicates the correct feel and emotive response for their students, parents and staff.

Blue is the colour of trust, serenity, and peace. It suggests loyalty and integrity. It is calming, reducing tension and fear while inspiring wisdom and higher ideals, it seeks peace and tranquillity above everything else, promoting both physical and mental relaxation.

Orange radiates warmth and happiness, combining the physical energy and stimulation of red with the cheerfulness of yellow. The colour psychology of orange is optimistic and uplifting, rejuvenating our spirit, and bringing spontaneity and a positive outlook on life.

Yellow with it being the lightest hue of the spectrum is uplifting and illuminating, offering hope and happiness. It’s a warm and happy colour that creates a sense of cheerfulness and brightens people’s spirits.

What truly makes Penarth Group School remarkable is their ability to tailor their curriculum to the specific needs of each individual student and place the stepping stones (small goals and successes) so they can not only achieve their fullest potential but be proud of their individuality and become resilient in the process.

Along with this, they aim for each student to leave Penarth Group School with a set of qualifications and life skills so they can flourish in their career and life beyond education.
