Logo Design &
Branding.
Together we will produce a one-of-a-kind logo and supporting branding that shows off the remarkable in your school, sets you apart from your competition, creates a real impact, and results in enduring relationships.

Stand Proud.
You know about logos and straplines and style and tone. You know about education, about working with and for parents and children. Do you know how closely related the two concepts are? The magic that is your values, strengths, style, what you actually do, shared and understood by all those involved, needs to be reflected in a powerful school logo, strapline, colours and style. That’s branding.

Show Off.
In the world of education, we can also think of branding as something that helps the customer. We’re not trying to trick people; we are trying to help them wade through everything on offer and find what is right for them. We do this by giving them information, by creating an emotional response, and by inviting them into something that will address their needs.
Schools aren’t only professional or friendly, open or specialist, traditional or forward-thinking; they are fully rounded characters that have stories to tell. Squeezing all of that into a logo or strapline isn’t easy but, fortunately, successful branding sees people associating a brand visual – colour, logo, style – with a host of qualities and quality itself, even where they aren’t spelt out or even depicted.
How not to do it: “Have a nice day!” – the call of servers at American diners where there’s been customer service training; this is one way to gain brand recognition, but not the best way. It’s clichéd and so doesn’t sound sincere. We’d rather believe our service providers genuinely wished us a nice day. On the other hand, it won’t help to have “Some of Them are Grumpy” as your unofficial strapline. Consider what style and behaviour is authentic and natural, then grab your branding tools and put it into action.
Branding doesn’t just happen and then stop. Messages need amending and delivering differently to keep pace with demographics, technology, attitudes and beliefs. At the same time, no-one wants a school that rebrands every five minutes – never be the Snickers that leaves people longing for a Marathon – what’s important is tweaks and re-visiting strategies. The closer you get to the problem that people need addressing, the sooner you will know how to display your solution.
Be Yourself.
If you are looking to refresh and update your existing branding, we can help.
If you are ready for something new, we can help.
We have spent over 20 years working within the school sector to develop expertise and know-how, so that we can ensure you are happy with how your branding is seen by pupils and staff and those beyond the school grounds.
Branding is a tool for reinventing or rejuvenating how you do business – the business of gaining and retaining interest, the business of education, the remarkable, profound, and damned hard work of building human beings. Branding is bringing together everything you do and stand for so that it permeates through from uniform style to teaching style, from headed paper to headteacher, from everything you want to be to everything you are.

Love Story.
Every school is different, each offering something special that makes them stand out; this individuality – known as the Unique Selling Point (USP) – is what we call ‘the remarkable’ – the talking point, that which astounds because it is exceptional. We don’t create a brand from nowhere; we find what you already have and harness it in the development of a new school logo, website, prospectus, etc. You already have your brand – we just need to make sure it’s visible and effective.
Like love, brand is a verb as much as it is a noun.
It’s a doing word.
‘To love’ is active and ongoing. ‘To brand’ is the ‘what next?’ after the honeymoon – after you’ve got your new school logo and are ready to launch your school communications strategy.
And like love, branding takes work, benefits from sensible and enthusiastic guidelines, and gets better with practice!
Blue Apple Education provides the guidance and expertise needed in its School Brand Identity Kit. All the schools we work with receive a document with support and advice, and the School Brand Identity Kit takes this to another level. Along with direction on strategy, the kit provides an array of beautiful templates and tools for direct use going forward. Whether or not you are ready for a new logo (we know it’s not always the right time) your school will benefit immediately from the School Brand Identity Kit, a set of digital assets for school promotions and profile-raising. Our kit will guide you through with templates and documents produced specifically for you: internal wall graphics, handbooks, email signature – you can even see how an embroidered version of your logo looks on the school uniform (needle and cotton not supplied!)
